The austerity of these temples is best experienced alone... with no one near you talking or clamoring about... note the Apsara relief on the bottom right is mostly in tact at the time of this photograph. As you may be aware much of the extremely detailed stone work has been removed and or destroyed by the barbaric attempts to pillage these sites.

Diving in front of Angkor Wat

Taken several years ago before the onslaught of global tourism with a 'film' camera in front of Angkor Wat, Siem Reap... local children swimming and diving. Many of these kids can speak at least 5 languages at a minimal level beyond simple greetings... what I found amazing is that they could identify what language (I tried a few) I spoke to them in and match it with a greeting and at least another one liner.
